Preservation of value: Mechanical watches retain a high rate of value over time, and some even appreciate in value. In addition to being functional timepieces, they are also considered investments.Mechanical watches have been around for centuries and are considered a symbol of luxury and style. However, as much as they fascinate us, they also require proper care and maintenance. In this article, we'll discuss some of the daily dos and don'ts of using a mechanical watch to ensure its longevity and proper functioning. First, it is important to wind your mechanical watch at the same time every day, preferably in the morning. This ensures that the watch's power reserve is always fully charged, allowing it to run accurately throughout the day. It is also recommended to wind the watch by hand rather than relying on any automatic winding device as this will help reduce wear on the movement and ensure the watch is wound correctly.Set time and date (if applicable): The first thing you need to do is set the time and date on your watch. To do this, you need to find the crown - the small button on the side of the watch - and pull it out until it clicks into the first position. This should allow you to turn the crown to set the time. If your watch has a date function, you may need to pull the crown out to the second or third position to adjust. It is important to note that you should not adjust the date function between 9pm and 3am as this may damage the movement of the watch. WEAR WATCH: Now that your watch is set up, it's time to wear it! Automatic watches are designed to be worn frequently - preferably every day. When you first put it on, you need to turn the crown clockwise 20 to 30 turns to wind it manually. This will ensure that the watch is fully wound and functioning properly. When you wear your watch throughout the day, the movement of your arm should keep it wound. If you leave your watch off for a period of time (for example, overnight), you may need to manually wind it again when you put it back on the next day.
